Sparco Engineering can supply a wide range of standard or custom designed Waste Heat Recovery (WHRU) solutions for both offshore and onshore applications.  With its experienced heat transfer engineers, utilising its vast array of finned tube technology in either spiral fin or H fin type tubes, we can supply a solution to suit your particular needs. Sparco-tech WHRU's come complete with their in house Gas diverter dampers to provide their client's with a total engineering solution. with latest compact and modular design for easy installtion with shorter time period.

Our  designs are robust and efficient with high rates of availability and reliability operating in critical service at elevated temperatures 24/7. Sparco designs for minimum intervention and have experienced operation well in excess of the anticipated design life of our units.

WHRUs are providing reliable service around the globe in LNG plants, gas plants, FPSOs, ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle) systems and Offshore Platforms. Our bespoke designs range in size, shape and orientation, and our designers are able to select from a large tool box of solutions to find the best fit for every application.

Our design are compactible with catalyst converters for the Co to co2 converstion for converstion of toxic gases. A multi-objective optimization approach is employed to attain optimal designs for each bottoming unit by selecting specific functions tailored to the oil and gas sector, i.e. yearly CO2 emissions, weight and economic revenue.

The test case is the gas turbine-based power system serving an offshore platform in the North Sea. Results indicate that the organic Rankine cycle technology presents larger performances compared to steam Rankine cycle units, whereas the implementation of air bottoming cycle modules is not attractive from an economic and environmental perspective compared to the other two technologies.

espite the relatively high cost of the expander and of the primary heat exchanger, organic Rankine cycle turbogenerators appear thus to be the preferred solution to abate CO2 emissions and pollutants on oil and gas facilities. As a practical consequence, sparco provides guidelines for the design of high-efficiency, cost-competitive and low-weight power systems for offshore installations.
